SHAI, THROWBACK TO THE 90'S

SHAI, was formed at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Three of its four members, Marc Gay, founding member Carl Martin, and Darnell Van Rensalier, belonged to the same fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, and along with good friend Garfield Bright, decided to take a chance at turning their hobby of singing at talent shows into a career. While still in DC, Carl met a DJ from radio station WPGC at a softball game, and passed a demo tape of "If I Ever Fall in Love" to him. That same week, the DJ played it on the air. Other stations soon followed suit, and in short order the record labels came calling. After signing with Gasoline Alley, Shai began quickly putting together their debut album, which was recorded in three weeks. R&B Diva Michel'le promises to draw record crowds in Jacksonville

Michel'le Denise Toussant,   known mononymously as  Michel'le , is an American  R&B  singer and songwriter. She is best known for her songs from the late–1980s to early–1990s. Her most notable songs were two  Billboard  R&B chart toppers "No More Lies" (a top 10 hit on the Hot 100) and "Something In My Heart". Her signature childlike speaking voice is a startling contrast to her strong and soulful singing vocals. Between 2013 and 2015, Michel'le was one of six members on the  TV One  reality show  R&B Divas: Los Angeles . Michel'le was originally a featured female vocalist on  World Class Wreckin' Cru 's 1987 single "Turn Off the Lights". Michel’le Toussant is an American R&B recording artist who will forever hold a place in music history as one of the most important female vocalists during the " golden-age" of West Coast Hip-Hop. A native of Compton, it was clear that Michel’le had a unique vision in regards to merging street-influenced urban culture with sultry vocals and powerful lyrics.
